- Research Summary
- My research focuses on flash droughts, which are high-impact climate events characterized by unusually rapid intensification over several weeks to months. My group uses observational and modeling datasets to monitor their evolution and better understand their characteristics, and develops machine learning methods to improve early warning of their onset. We have also engaged with agricultural and ecological stakeholders through focus groups to identify drought vulnerabilities and explore how drought early warning information can inform management decisions.
