Research Summary
Catherine directs the Wisconsin Idea Seminar, an annual five-day journey through Wisconsin that offers faculty and staff the opportunity to learn firsthand about the social and cultural contexts that shape the lives of many of our Wisconsin students, and to see what the Wisconsin Idea looks like when it is rooted in local communities and shaped by local priorities. The Seminar’s narrative frame is water and it is structured on themes of relationship, reciprocity, and responsibility to people, land, and water. Catherine also directs the Ira and Ineva Reilly-Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Endowment grant program and serves on various committees and initiatives.
