Research Summary
Becky Sapper has led the Wisconsin Master Naturalist program for UW–Madison Extension since 2015, building a statewide network of conservation volunteers. Prior to this role, she also has served in other capacities with Extension, including as a regional natural resources educator, assistant reserve manager, and freshwater estuary outreach specialist—roles that reflect her lifelong passion for connecting people to nature. Currently, Becky focuses on strengthening partnerships, engaging stakeholders, and supporting a network of volunteers across Wisconsin. Before joining Extension, she spent 10 years in nonprofit conservation, helping landowners protect their properties through easements and education. In all her roles, water topics have been a common thread, especially relating to the community science, water quality, invasive species, the Great Lakes and freshwater estuaries.
