Research Summary

Rahul Sujanani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. His research primarily focuses on understanding mass transport across polymer-solution interfaces in order to design more efficient membrane materials for water and electrochemical separations. His group develops experiments to measure fundamental properties quantifying membrane performance and applies this data to improve models describing transport across polymers and design new materials for advanced separations. Current water-based applications include desalination, critical mineral recovery, and waste-water treatment.
