The study of water is highly interdisciplinary, and involves biological, physical, chemical, social, political, and economic dimensions. UW-Madison has an exceptional diversity of water-focused faculty and staff who can help support an interdisciplinary approach to learning. There are at least 30 departments and degree programs in related to water along with a Freshwater and Marine Sciences Certificate. Students who study water at UW-Madison are able to access a wealth of expertise and diversity of research opportunities that will prepare them for a wide range of water-related careers.
