Birdwatching emphasizes the joy and wonders of birding. This piece was inspired by the Friends Of The Lake Superior’s birding events. These events have ASL interpreters, mobility aids like outdoor wheelchairs, and expert bird enthusiast to share knowledge. Identifying with nature through community, learning, and exploration, can give people a greater sense of belonging and purpose; and aims to make it accessible for everyone. Our bodies of water in the region are naturally a habitat for many birds, and especially in the superior region are often threatened by effects of climate change. It was important to make a piece that was joyful, but also showed a positive activity that can show us how our environment changes; and how birds remain some of the most adaptive creatures on the planet.
