Down the Drain

In Collaboration with John Moyles, from J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue

For this art work I was inspired by the invasive species that inhibit our Wisconsin rivers and lakes. I went through a plethora of ideas and materials to land on a digital painting. This painting focuses on how people release their goldfish into the lakes and rivers and since they thrive in these kinds of environments, the goldfish take away resources from those who naturally inhabit the space.

In order to create the piece I gained inspiration from a recent trip I took to Japan. I was inspired by the different forms of infographics and advertisements that I saw while there. I thought it would be a good idea to use scale to show the impact these creatures have on the environment and how much space they take up.
